Founder & Pet Carer

I began working with animals at the age of 10, helping out on farms across England and Wales. As I grew up, it quickly became clear that working with animals was the career I wanted to pursue. After completing work experience at a veterinary practice and later at a dog grooming parlour, I secured a job at the parlour, where I went on to work for five years.

During this time, I gained extensive hands-on experience, including working with dogs with separation anxiety and aggression, as well as supporting puppies through their first grooming and training sessions. To deepen my understanding of canine behaviour, I also completed online courses in dog behaviour and psychology before starting my own business. Early on in the business, I also completed Canine First Aid training, recognising the importance of safety, emergency preparedness, and the highest standards of care.

Throughout my life, I have cared for a wide variety of animals — including cats that lived to the impressive age of 22, dogs, guinea pigs (who famously bonded with our family cat), as well as hamsters, fish, and numerous farm animals.

My lifelong love of animals inspired me to establish Hannah’s Pet Care Services, where we now provide professional, compassionate, and reliable care for pets across Devon and Somerset. In my spare time, I volunteer with Cats Protection and The Cinnamon Trust, helping to support cats and pet owners in need.

Introducing Alison…

Pet carer

Due to high demand and our shared passion for animals, Alison joined the team in 2025. She currently offers drop-ins, dog walks, and daytime pet sits.

Alison is fully insured under the business, DBS checked, and canine first aid trained. She also has her vehicle insured for emergency vet trips (hopefully never needed!) and is equipped with a pet first aid kit, cat carrier for cats and small animals, and dog seatbelts for safety.

Please note: Transport for dog walks and outings will still be done exclusively by me, using the van and crates.

Alison is an animal lover and already knows how the business works, which makes having her on board an extra bonus. Her help means we can offer more availability during busy periods while maintaining the same high level of care and attention for all pets.

We own a sweet little cat called Brownie, who is Hannah’s best friend, but is definitely the boss of the house!

We adopted her from Cats Protection, and when she first came home she was very timid and barely made a sound. But, with patience and love, she’s grown into a confident little character who now happily bosses us around! Here she is exploring the garden in the sunshine!
